Submit your input and join our Regional Coordinator on Donor engagement event

Frontline Aids has organised a donor engagement event that will involve leaders in sex work and LGBTIQ movement.The event will be a discussion on emergency response for health, human rights and justice.

Responding quickly to discrimination and violence is critical for a human right centred HIV response. It helps prevent transmission and generates evidence to inform access to justice and wider advocacy. As communities continue to feel impact of COVID-19 and of anti-rights movements, mechanisms for emergency response are more needed than ever – but continue to be under-resourced within HIV and human rights programming

ASWA Regional Coordinator will be part of the panel discussion on Emergency Response for Health, Human Rights and Justice organised by our partners Frontline Aids.

Frontline Aids will also launch a good practice brief ‘Human rights emergency response and HIV’ and hear from LGBT+ and sex worker rights organisations about their experiences and what funders and programmers can do to support.

Make your voice heard by sending your inputs on the following;

  1. What kinds of emergencies linking to HIV are you aware of, and how do you currently respond to these situations?
  1. What is needed to help individuals and grassroots sex worker organisations better respond to human rights emergencies?

The event will be held on Tuesday 31st January 2023

Time: East Africa Time 17:00/West Africa Time 15:00/Central and Southern Africa Time 16:00/Egypt Time 16:00/Mauritius and Seychelles Time 18:00 (duration 1 hour)
