The African Sex Workers Alliance (ASWA) will be at the Black Feminisms Forum, in Bahia, Brazil, at the backdrop of the 13th AWID International Forum.

ASWA will hold a Community-led Session titled: ‘Sex work and Feminism: What does it mean to be an African sex worker feminist?’

This session explores a two-year study that asks – ‘What does it mean to be an African sex worker feminist?’

The findings suggest that though being an African, a sex worker and a feminist are often considered incongruent identities, in certain embodiments they actually inform each other.

ASWA will be represented by Ntokozo Yingwana (South Africa), Amaka Enemo (Nigeria), and the ASWA Hands Off! Programs Officer, Onkokame Mosweu (Botswana).
