ASWA hosts HIVOS for talks on KP Reach Programme

On September 13, the African Sex Workers Alliance (ASWA) hosted the Hivos Regional Team at the ASWA Secretariat in Nairobi, Kenya.

The team is in the country to conduct an On-Site Data Verification (OSDV) exercise as part of the Global Fund funded Programme, Key Populations (KP) REACH, a three year programme aimed at addressing high levels of HIV infections and related deaths among Key Populations in Southern Africa, to which ASWA is a sub-recipient.

KP REACH also seeks to strengthen regional Key Population networks to better serve their communities, and in advocacy.

KP REACH works primarily with sex workers, men who have sex with men (MSM), women who have sex with women (WSW) and Transgender individuals. ASWA, AMSHeR, Coalition of African Lesbians (CAL), and the Southern African Trans Forum (SATF) are part of this programme.The team will also visit Health Options for Young Men on HIV/AIDS/STI (HOYMAS) and Bar Hostess Empowerment and Support Programme (BHESP).
